Sustainable together: Responsibility that connects
Sustainability is not just a buzzword for Minebea Intec, it is firmly anchored in our identity. As a company within the MinebeaMitsumi Group, which expressed its support for the United Nations Global Compact back in January 2012, we combine the global responsibility of an international technology group with the local character of our regional corporate culture. We take our commitment to customers, employees and the environment seriously - day after day. We have been awarded the EcoVadis silver medal for this.
Global responsibility, implemented locally
Minebea Intec is guided by the MinebeaMitsumi Group's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) goals: these include ecological, social and economic responsibility - in particular the commitment to greater sustainability along the entire value chain:
CO? neutrality by 2050
this means that all CO? emissions generated by our business activities - from production and logistics to energy consumption - should either be completely avoided or offset through suitable measures such as energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy or compensation (e.g. reforestation projects). As an interim target, we will reduce our Scope 1 emissions (direct emissions from our own facilities and vehicles) and Scope 2 emissions (indirect emissions from purchased energy) by 42% by March 2031 compared to the base year 2020.
90% revenue share through "Green Products"
"Green Products" are products designed to be environmentally friendly throughout their entire lifecycle. This includes low energy consumption, durable materials, recyclable design, and the reduction of environmentally harmful substances in manufacturing. The goal is to generate 90% of revenue from Green Products by 2029.

We focus on fair and sustainable sourcing that respects human rights, incorporates environmental protection, and uses conflict-free raw materials.
Social responsibility
We are committed to upholding fundamental human rights and fostering a diverse, inclusive corporate culture. We also recognize that our company can only grow sustainably if we enable our employees to succeed. It is about unlocking individual potential and promoting it in a targeted manner. In addition, our ISO 45001 certification underlines our commitment to occupational health and safety as well as safe working conditions.

Our sustainability strategy is closely linked to recognised standards and measurable targets:
- Ecovadis Silver Medal 2025: with this award, Minebea Intec is one of the most sustainable companies in its industry. Criteria in the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement were evaluated. The silver medal emphasises that we take our responsibility seriously.
- ISO 14001: This internationally recognised certificate confirms our structured environmental management system. It helps us to systematically recognise, evaluate and reduce our environmental impact - be it through efficient energy use, waste management or the economical use of resources.
Sustainability example from practice
Our load cells are supplied exclusively in plastic-free packaging made from recycled material. In this way, we not only reduce single-use plastics, but also actively promote the circular economy. The cardboard packaging is made from waste paper fibres that can be recycled several times.
We also focus on sustainability in delivery: our shipping processes are optimised to keep transport routes as short as possible and reduce emissions. In addition, product labelling is completely digital - printed manuals are gradually being replaced by QR code-based information systems.
Sustainability through technology
We are very fortunate to be able to create solutions that directly contribute to greater sustainability in industrial production. Our durable products - including load cells, industrial scales, checkweighers, metal detectors, X-ray and visual inspection systems - make a measurable contribution to greater efficiency and resource conservation:
- Reduction of rejects and overfilling
- Optimised use of materials and lower energy consumption
- Traceability and quality control to avoid recalls
These benefits are particularly evident in sectors with high resource consumption, such as the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Even the smallest optimisations in weight and fill level can save large amounts of material and energy - and this is precisely where our technologies come in.

Efficient resource management with checkweighers
Dynamic checkweighers such as Essentus?, Synus?, Flexus? and EWK optimise the use of materials, increase production quality and reduce waste. The SPC@Enterprise software ensures seamless data acquisition and traceability.
Product safety through X-ray and metal detection
Our X-ray systems (Dymond, Dylight, Dypipe) inspect products reliably and energy-efficiently - even in liquids. The Mitus? metal detector precisely detects foreign objects and prevents false rejects.
